Tavist Drug Interactions

Drug interactions may occur if you take Tavist in combination with anticholinergic medications, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, phenothiazine drugs, or a number of other medications. These drug interactions with Tavist could decrease the effectiveness of the medicines or result in side effects such as drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, dry eyes, or difficulty passing urine.

Drug Interactions With Tavist: An Overview

Tavist® Allergy (clemastine fumarate) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to Tavist drug interactions include (but are not limited to):
 
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Acetylcholinesterase inhibitor medications, including:

 

 

  • Anticholinergic drugs, such as:

 

 

  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including:

 

 

  • Other medications that cause drowsiness, including, but not limited to:

 

 

  • Phenothiazine medications, including:
