Soar Throat

Were you looking for information on Sore Throat? Soar throat is a common misspelling of sore throat.

A sore throat (known medically as pharyngitis) is one of the most common reasons that people go to their healthcare provider. The two most common causes are an infection with either a virus (the most common) or bacteria.

The way to treat a sore throat will depend on what's causing it. For example, a bacterial infection (such as strep throat) is treated with antibiotics. However, these medications are ineffective at treating viral infections. If a sore throat caused by a virus, time (and the body's immune system) will cure these infections.
