Drug Interactions With Pseudoephedrine
Sodium Bicarbonate Antacids
Sodium bicarbonate antacids may increase the level of pseudoephedrine in the blood (by decreasing its excretion through the urine). This may increase the risk of pseudoephedrine side effects. If you take sodium bicarbonate, check with your healthcare provider before taking pseudoephedrine.
SNRI Antidepressants or Fibromyalgia Medications
Serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) should probably not be combined with pseudoephedrine, due to the increased risk of an increased heart rate.
It is possible that not all pseudoephedrine drug interactions were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about any specific drug interactions that may apply to you.
