Neo-Synephrine Drug Interactions

Several drugs are known to interact with Neo-Synephrine. Included in this list are MAOIs, tricyclic antidepressants, and cannabinoid drugs. These interactions can cause serious, even life-threatening, complications, such as high blood pressure or a fast heart rate. To avoid any potential Neo-Synephrine drug interactions, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about any other medications you are currently taking.

An Overview of Neo-Synephrine Interactions

Neo-Synephrine® (phenylephrine or oxymetazoline nasal spray) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Neo-Synephrine include but are not limited to:
 
  • Cannabinoid medications or drugs, such as:
 
    • Dronabinol (Marinol®)
    • Marijuana
    • Nabilone (Cesamet™)
 
  • Iobenguane I 123 (AdreView™)
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), such as:
