Allergy symptoms, such as a runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, an itchy throat or nose, and sneezing, can often be treated with Alavert-D. The medication can also be used to treat nasal congestion due to the common cold. It is approved for use in adults and children age 12 and older. At this time, there are no universally accepted off-label Alavert-D uses.
What Is Alavert-D Used For?Alavert®-D 12 Hour Allergy & Sinus (loratadine and pseudoephedrine sulfate) is an over-the-counter allergy and common cold medication. It contains two different medications: loratadine (an antihistamine) and pseudoephedrine (a decongestant). This medication is approved to treat the following cold or allergy symptoms:
- Itchy or watery eyes
- Itchy nose or throat
- Runny nose
- Nasal congestion
- Sinus congestion and pressure.
