Dextromethorphan Dosage Range
There are a variety of dextromethorphan products, and your specific dose will depend on your age and the particular product you are using.
The dextromethorphan dosage will range from 5 mg to 60 mg, depending on the particular product. It can be taken anywhere from every hour to every 12 hours, again depending on the particular form of dextromethorphan used.
In general, adults age 12 and older should not use more than 120 mg of dextromethorphan in a day, children age 6 to 12 should not use more than 60 mg in a day, and children age 4 to 6 should not use more than 30 mg in a day. Dextromethorphan is typically not recommended for use in children younger than 4 years old, unless directed by a healthcare provider.
