Augmentin XR Oral

Augmentin XR® (amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium XR) is the long-acting version of Augmentin, a prescription antibiotic. Like Augmentin, Augmentin XR is an oral medication; however, it only comes in the form of tablets (Augmentin is available as tablets, chewable tablets, and a liquid).

Augmentin XR is prescribed for the treatment of sinus infections and pneumonia. There is only one standard recommended dosage for this product, although the length of time it is taken varies, depending on the particular condition being treated. It is generally taken twice a day, ideally at the start of a meal. Common side effects include diarrhea and nausea.
