Augmentin XR 1000 Mg Tablets

Available only by prescription, Augmentin XR® (amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium XR) is an antibiotic that comes in the form of a tablet. It is approved for the treatment of sinus infections and pneumonia caused by specific types of bacteria. Augmentin XR comes in one strength: Each tablet contains 1000 mg of amoxicillin and 62.5 mg of clavulanic acid.
 
The recommended dose of this antibiotic is two tablets (a total of 2000 mg of amoxicillin and 125 mg of clavulanic acid) every 12 hours. For sinus infections, Augmentin XR is usually taken for 10 days. For pneumonia, it is typically taken for 7 to 10 days.
