What If I Take an Overdose?
An overdose with
Alavert-D could cause serious problems, due to the
pseudoephedrine component of the medication. The
loratadine component is unlikely to cause serious problems. If you happen to overdose on this medication, seek immediate medical attention.
How Should Alavert-D Be Stored?
Alavert-D should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children.
What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?
For people who take this medication on a regular schedule (such as for
allergy treatment), if you do not take your Alavert-D as scheduled, take your missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose.
This medication comes in one strength -- Alavert-D 12 Hour Sinus and Allergy, with 5 mg of loratadine and 120 mg of
pseudoephedrine sulfate per tablet.
Generic Availability of Alavert-D
In some ways, this medication may be considered a generic version of another medication (
Claritin-D®), although it is also a brand-name drug. Generic versions of Alavert-D are also available
